In class we read the whole A rose for Emily.We finished off part 4 and 5.The story is told through a series of flashbacks, revealing how the townspeople viewed Emily. She is a figure of mystery and speculation, living in a dilapidated mansion. After her father's death, Emily becomes increasingly isolated, and her mental state deteriorates. She briefly dates a Northern laborer named Homer Barron, but their relationship ends under mysterious circumstances.Years later, when Emily dies, the townspeople discover a secret room in her house where the decomposed corpse of Homer Barron lies on a bed. This macabre revelation suggests that Emily poisoned Homer to prevent him from leaving her, highlighting her desperate attempt to hold onto love and the past.
